Due to rain-outs, the Ice Weasels were only able to play 7 of their 8 scheduled games. However, all 7 of those games were victories, which was enough to clinch first place in the league. The next best team had 3 losses. This season did not have the close games that marked the Winter 2000-2001 season, but the undefeated record is still impressive. The Weasels again marched to victory behind the excellent pitching of Amy (with one appearance by Neil).
The first-place finish earned a spot for the Weasels in the post-season tournament. Unfortunately, as was the case in our last tournament, several of the Weasels' regular players were unable to make it. The Ice Weasels nevertheless fielded a team.
Game 1, 5/12/01, 8am

Notes: We played with only 9 players, as Pete overslept. We held the
other team fairly close for the first few innings, but the last couple
of innings didn't go so well, as the score reflects.
Game 2, 5/12/01, noon
Silencers 11, Ice Weasels 19 (Home)
Notes: All 10 of us were present for this game. We put together some
nice innings offensively, and the defense wasn't bad either.
Unfortunately, Brandy hurt her ankle sliding into third. She was able
to stay in the game, but she couldn't run very well.
Game 3, 5/12/01, 2pm
Ice Weasels 11, Opponents 21 (Home, I don't remember their name)
Notes: The team was tiring, going into this game. It was very hot
out. We did well for the first half of the game, but allowed a lot of
runs in the second half. Neil's pitching (which until then had been
superb) got a little out of sync, partly due to fatigue, and partly due
to a strange strike zone. There was a slight rally in the final inning,
but it was not enough.
