Note: If the Weasels won this game, they were guaranteed second place in the league. If they lost, then their fate would be decided by the other league game played that evening. After losing first place last week, the Weasels were determined to claim second place. The offense was effective -- Cory hit two in-the-park homeruns, and Matt hit one. Every hitter had good at bats, getting on base however they could. The defense made a few mistakes, but was otherwise very good. Brandy played a spectacular game at first base, not allowing a single ball to get by her, including one ball that was thrown hard into the dirt in front of her. She was responsible for a lot of key outs, and was definitely the defensive star of the game. Nathan pitched a good game, especially in the final inning, where he forced the Flamingoes to put the ball into play and earn their runs the hard way. The final score was Weasels 12, Flamingoes 9. Thanks a lot to Azzy and Angel for subbing. Angel will be playing for the Weasels full time starting in the next season, as will Amy (who attended this game, but did not play).
