• Maximum PC Magazine -- A good magazine to learn about cutting edge PC technology. I have found it quite useful in choosing both hardware and software.
• The Hacker Crackdown by Bruce Sterling -- The entire text of the book, online for your reading pleasure.

• Tom's Hardware Guide -- Useful information about all sorts of computer hardware. You should read this before making any hardware purchases.

• Stroud's Consumate Internet Apps -- A great and comprehensive collection of Internet apps.
• The Ultimate Collection of Winsock Software (or so it claims) -- Another good source of Windows (3.1 or 95) software.
• Wallpaper Deluxe -- Although not software, strictly speaking, some Windows wallpaper can be found here.
• FSF's GNU Project -- The source of much great software.

Miscellaneous

• The Official 5.25" Disk Sleeve Archive -- It's important to remember that this is the official archive, not one of the many pretenders to the throne.
