The Web: Such Funny Men

by Sol Finkelman

There is no doubt the walrus said
That mankind's going to the dogs;
They cannot sleep when off to bed,
At wake up time, they sleep like logs.

They give so much to charities,
Such satisfaction in the gift;
But when at taxes they can sneeze,
Onto the streets the poor must drift.

In parking lots they circle round,
So they won't have too much to walk:
At exercise in gyms they're found,
But mostly go to sit and talk.

A nearby turtle shook his head,
No species known could be that dumb;
Permissiveness too long inbred
Has left the brain cells all but numb.
